Stopping the cycle of war and environmental destruction.

By Pat Hackett. Home page.  If the politicians can't or won't act:- A peaceful revolution for long term peace and wellbeing:- If we are to make "never again" really never again it's imperative our political and economic systems do not make this cycle and destruction inevitable. If there is a vicious circle of inequality leading to those with extreme wealth disproportionately influencing the politics and media to further their wealth and influence then this cycle and destruction becomes inevitable. The vicious circle leads to the most ruthless oligarchs having the most influence and they use that influence today to encourage the politics of consumption based on infinite growth, self interest and division. What has happened to society? First we must stop the genocide and wars happening now in all the ways we can as discussed to some extent in the previous post.   Why we need a grassroot revolution. As I write this Western politicians and the media are conceding tha...

Why we need a grassroot revolution.

By Pat Hackett  In 2025 the world is watching a whole nation fighting starvation and being deprived of basic needs for survival and doing little about it. This is the continued plight of the Palestinian people from apartheid to genocide. This is not a problem that the west including Britain is an uninvolved bystander as briefly described in the myths but a problem that our leaders are not dealing with. (If Britain can send in reconnaissance planes over Gaza why can't they send in food in defiance of the Israeli government. Britain must simultaneously stop sending military support to Israel. Britain could really step up by having a less negative role and supporting existing international laws.) Furthermore there is not an effective pathway for the population to timely change the course of this using the accepted routes because of institutionalised failings in our politicians and main stream media preventing democracy to work effectively.  Institutionalised failings:- For ...

So Just What are "Our Shared Values" that our politicians often talk about?

By Pat Hackett    The undefined values of Western society. Many people are asking themselves how can we have a world standing bye watching ethnic cleansing and a genocide taking place by Israel while the West support Israel on many fronts and consider them our friend and ally. A world in which communications, technically speaking, is greater than it has ever been. When Britain and America gave Israel the right to do "whatever it deems necessary" the world sank to a depth never before witnessed by so many from which it will be hard to recover but we must do everything we can to do so. Inaction or indifference from Western society. Whether it is inaction or indifference from Western societies, without this silence then it would be unlikely Western governments would be able to continue to support Israel's ethnic cleansing and apartheid in Palestine. For this level of depravity to continue all these negative influences have had to coincide:- * the psychopaths who can commit a...

Corruption in our democratic world.

Image
By Pat Hackett   While it easy to understand how corruption can and has been common place under dictatorships, but how in a modern world that claims democracy can this corruption have such a hold? It is becoming clearer that corruption does exists not only in our politicians but also our media but we need to ask two things:- Why does this corruption exist but firstly why do our media representatives allow themselves to be corrupted. There are few if any loose cannons in the BBC. The simplest way to ensure that the media supports the interests of those who corrupt is to make sure those who are selected and those who are promoted to high positions with high salaries have the appropriate qualities. Two qualities seem to stand out:- 1. To be able to see both sides of a situation even to the extent of defending the indefensible. 2. To be a careerist to the extent that you will know intuitively when and when not to practice those skills of impartially. Encouraging careerism. Those ...
